Benjamin Timpson’s artistic process combines analog photography with the digital technologies of today. Through the artist’s hand, Timpson observes how technology has shaped the photographer and how the word (maybe world??) communicates with one another. The result is a series of images created on a light table using a combination of black and white negatives, color transparencies, worms, wire, and insects. These handmade negatives form compositions of photographers taking photographs, which in turn allow Timpson to step outside the viewfinder, explore perspectives of others and transition of film photography to the digital age frontier.
